March is traditionally the month that smokers are encouraged to quit.
National No Smoking Day … traditionally the second Wednesday in March, this year it is Wednesday 9th March.
What it’s NOT about?
Its not about encouraging smokers to give up just for the day or make them as outcasts.
What it IS about?
It is about encouraging people to look forward with positivity to a smoke free future. Quitting smoking does not need to be stressful and whilst chemical aids can be utilised with some success. E.g. Champix, Nicotine Chewing Gum etc. There is a way to quit without the use of such aids that involves no potential side effects.
Hypnotherapy can assist with the removal of unwanted habits and cravings such as smoking and nicotine. It works by challenging negative behaviours and mindsets associated with smoking and seeks to weaken the desire to smoke and/or strengthen the will to stop. Hypnotherapy is gaining attention as an alternative treatment which is being documented by health professionals. In 2014, a medical study concluded that “Hypnotherapy is more effective than NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapies) in improving smoking abstinence in patients hospitalised for a smoking related illness.”
